THREE GEMS
These Northern Virginia vineyards don’t participate in the state’s Governor’s Cup for various reasons, but are widely regarded.
Linden: Founded in 1985, this has long been one of the most influential wineries in the state and also one of the few to be nationally regarded.
Crimson Lane: This vineyard debuted in 2023, and we’ve been impressed by the quality of their wines. They spared no expenses on their tasting room, and it shows. We enjoyed their work so much we became members.
RdV: Highly-regarded by the wine press, RdV makes Bordeaux-style blends to exacting standards. Heads-up: The wines are expensive.
